Located in Ethiopia’s north-eastern Danakil depression, a desert area in the State of Afar, the potash project includes three potash concessions covering an area of approximately 150km2. It includes two deposits: the Mushley deposit and the smaller Crescent deposit.


Micheal KeLuJi, who owns the potash deposit containing an estimated 105.2 million tons of inferred potash mineral resources. The composite grade of the resources has been estimated at 20.8% KCl.

Design From Mining Engineers

The potash deposit will be mined using either solution or open pit mining methods. Crushing, grinding and screening in the project have adopted our machinery which is specially designed according to the real situation of this project. After a detailed consultation with our engineers, our customer would like to add a deep -rotor VSI crusher to make potash rocks into smaller potash particles. The VSI crusher is designed to produce very good particle shape and a high preparation of fines. Of course, it can meet the requirement for fineness. As for the selection of potash grinding mill, they choose our ultrafine mill, which is specially designed for the grinding size of powder ranging from 325 to 2500mesh. In addition, it is a complete plant, including the bucket elevator, hopper, vibrating feeder, classifier, pulse bag filter, cyclone collector, pipes and all necessary parts, our small ultrafine mill can reach the capacity about 1.2-2 t/h in line with the output of 1250mesh. Under the professional guidance of our engineers, they have finished the installation and commissioning successfully.
